Terms of Service

TrueSignal, Inc. d/b/a SolidChecked · Effective August 17, 2026

Agreement

These terms govern your use of solidchecked.com and related services operated by TrueSignal, Inc. (“we,” “SolidChecked”). By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What the service does

SolidChecked runs independent, automated checks on software products — security configuration, fine-print analysis, data-flow observation, and (for paid tiers) behavioral testing as a real customer. Products that pass carry a public record and an embeddable mark. Products that stop passing lose them.

A SolidChecked record is an observation report, not a warranty, endorsement, or guarantee of any kind. The mark certifies that specific checks passed as of specific dates. It does not certify that software is safe, secure, or free of defects.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may only claim products you built or are authorized to represent. One claim per product; duplicate claims will be rejected.

Identity verification

Publishing a record requires identity verification through our third-party provider (Stripe Identity). You consent to the collection and processing of identity documents as described in our Privacy Policy. Providing false identity information is grounds for immediate account termination and revocation of all associated records.

Free tier (“Checked”)

The free tier is available at no cost, per product. It includes all externally observable checks, a public record, an embeddable mark, and automated re-scans every 30 days. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the free tier at any time, with reasonable notice.

Paid tier (“Proven”)

The paid tier costs $399 per year, per product. It includes behavioral testing performed by automated agents acting as real customers, re-scans every 14 days, and quarterly deep re-testing. Payment is non-refundable. The fee purchases the audit — it does not purchase a passing result.

Proven audits involve real, anonymous transactions with your product (subscriptions, cancellations, refund requests, support tickets). By enrolling, you acknowledge and consent to this testing methodology. Agent spend is capped at $50 per test.

The fee buys the audit, not the outcome

Paying for a SolidChecked audit does not entitle you to a passing result. If your product fails checks, you may fix the issues and request a re-scan at no additional cost. You are not entitled to a refund because your product did not pass. Failing products remain unlisted — they are never published.

Publication and revocation

Records are published only with your explicit consent. Once published, your record is publicly accessible and indexed. You may withdraw consent at any time; withdrawn records are marked inactive but remain accessible as public documents.

We may revoke your mark and record if:

  • Your product fails a hard-fail check on re-scan and is not remediated within 24 hours (hard fails: identity, blocklist, secrets exposure, liveness, contact path)
  • You provided false identity information
  • You display the mark on a product not covered by an active record
  • You modify the mark in any way (altering appearance, removing the link to your record, or using it in a misleading context)
  • You violate these terms

The mark

The SolidChecked mark (hallmark, wordmark, and badge) is our property. Upon receiving a passing record, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to display the mark on the product covered by the record, subject to these conditions:

  • The mark must link to your active record at all times
  • You may not alter the mark’s appearance
  • You may not use the mark to imply endorsement, safety, or security beyond what the linked record states
  • An unlinked or modified mark is a counterfeit

Complaints

SolidChecked operates a complaint intake system. Complaints require proof of purchase. Verified complaint counts are published on product records. By using the service, you acknowledge that complaint counts associated with your product will be publicly visible.

Accuracy and limitations

We make reasonable efforts to ensure our checks are accurate. However:

  • Checks reflect conditions at the time of scanning and may not reflect subsequent changes
  • Automated checks have inherent limitations and may produce false positives or false negatives
  • A passing record does not guarantee that software is free of vulnerabilities, defects, or misconduct
  • We are not liable for decisions made by third parties based on our records

Disputes

If you believe a check result is incorrect, you may contest it by providing evidence. We will re-run the check and publish the versioned outcome. All dispute resolutions are dated and recorded on your record. We retain raw scan artifacts for dispute resolution.

Prohibited uses

  • Claiming a product you did not build and are not authorized to represent
  • Providing false identity or domain-control information
  • Displaying the mark on uncertified products or after revocation
  • Interfering with our scanning infrastructure
  • Using the service to attack, probe, or collect information about third-party systems
  • Automating access to the service beyond the documented API

Intellectual property

The SolidChecked name, hallmark, wordmark, and badge designs are the property of TrueSignal, Inc. Check methodologies, record formats, and the registry database are our property. Your product information and content remain yours.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrueSignal, Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to: lost revenue from a revoked record, damages from a false positive or false negative result, or third-party reliance on our records. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify TrueSignal, Inc. against claims arising from: your violation of these terms, your misuse of the mark, false information you provided, or your product’s conduct independent of our verification.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may terminate your account for violation of these terms. On termination: your mark license ends immediately, published records are marked inactive, and you must remove all instances of the mark from your product. Paid fees are not refunded on termination.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date and, where possible, communicated via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
